Transport
Good, clear communication is a necessity in all mass terminals, for broadcasting arrival and departure announcements, and general passenger information.
T. G. Baker (Sound) Ltd has enjoyed much success in this area, installing systems at Clapham Junction, St. Pancras and Euston Stations in London, Birmingham International Station and the Mersey Rail.
The sound system for Birmingham had to serve five 300m long platforms, a large inner concourse and an outer concourse that leads to the National Exhibition Centre and Birmingham International Airport.

Canada Line
Our company has been providing Public Address and Voice alarm Systems for the UK Railway Sector for almost 20 years.
We have network rail approval for our bespoke PA System and Loop Listening point for hearing aid users. In conjunction with this we also have link-up accreditation which allows our team of trained engineers to work in the railway station environment with full track-side capability.
We are very proud of the reputation that has been built over the years and network rail are fully aware of the quality of workmanship and service that we provide.
As a result of the numerous rail related projects that we had successfully completed in the UK our reputation has reached as far afield as north America.
In 2007 we received an invitation to tender for the supply and commissioning of a sophisticated Public Address System that would provide automatic announcements from a control centre (OMC) to sixteen new stations linking Vancouver International Airport and Richmond to Downtown Vancouver.
We saw this as the ideal opportunity to introduce Voice Alarm Principles to North America.
The systems were designed to comply with UK Voice Alarm Standards. We were awarded the contract and the systems were completed in 2009 in time for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
At present the systems are only being used as standard Public Address Systems but they are ready if Canada should decide to upgrade to Voice Alarm Standards. Everyone involved with the project is delighted with the performance of our system.
Since the project was completed we have received invitations to tender for other transport related projects in Canada.
